In diesem Vortrag wird das Thomaner-Portal – eine Sammlung aller Aufführungen des Thomanerchores in den Jahren 1808–2008 – vorgestellt. Dabei liegt das Augenmerk auf der Verwendung der Personennormdatei (PND) der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek. Dieser XML Datensatz wird als Webservice dem Thomaner-Portal zur Verfügung gestellt. Eine weitere Technologie, die Verwendung findet, sind Topic Maps. Diese haben zwei besondere Stärken, zum einen bilden sie ein „flexibles und intuitives Wissensmodel“ und zum anderen ein „robustes Model zur Identifikation“. Beides findet Verwendung im Thomaner-Portal, um Personen zu identifizieren und sie eindeutig mit ihrem Schaffen in Verbindung zu bringen.
