Space Applications Services N.V./S.A. is an independent Belgian space technology company, founded in 1987, whose aim is to develop innovative systems, solutions and products for the aerospace markets as well as related industries.

The main business lines are:

• Novel space system concept development:
• Complete ground segments, control centers and control systems for spacecraft and
  robots;
• Human-machine and human-robot interaction systems and products, including
  visualization systems;
• Space system operation services: ground facility set up, operations preparation,
  planning, training and execution;
• Knowledge management technology.

The Topic Maps Lab and Space Applications Services have cooperated in the preparation of several research proposals.
Space Applications Services sends regularly its personnel to the TMRA conference (which is organized by the Lab) committee and also sponsored the TMRA.
In addition to that, the Topic Maps Lab and Space Applications Services communicate on a regular basis about topics related to research and standardization efforts around Topic Maps.

Both parties are interested in similar subjects but usually from different perspectives, Space Applications Services sees potential for long term cooperation with the Lab which includes working on projects together, and cooperating in development of technologies.
