The First International Topic Maps Users Conference took place at the Oslo Conference Centre in Norway on March 20-21 2007.
Attendees experienced two days of tutorials, case studies, technical discussions, and exhibitions. They learned about how the ISO Topic Maps standard is being applied around the world to solve problems of information and knowledge management and had the opportunity to meet fellow users and talk to some of the world’s leading experts.

Nowadays Topic Maps appears to be very suitable for being applied in Libraries, Archives and Museums. It provides a suitable model and mechanisms for depth indexing, classification and the implementation of FRBR, CIDOC-CRM or other conceptualizations.
