Abstract:

Submit your topic maps to the Best Topic Map Contest @TMRA 2009 to get glory and win money.

Space Applications Services and TMRA invite all Topic Mappers to prove their mettle by creating the most impressive topic map in 2009.

Impressiveness of a topic map might be based on the covered topic, the ontology, the enormous linkage, or other unconventional features. Surprise the jury and the audience with a refreshing topic map. The overall goal of the challenge is to populate the world with new, amazing topic maps we can all learn from.

Prizes

1st place: 200 EUR
2nd place: 50 EUR
3rd place: 50 EUR

Rules

  • There are no thematic restrictions, any topic map can participate in the contest.
  • Topic maps must be submitted in a valid XTM (all versions), LTM, or CTM format. The size of a submitted topic map should not exceed 10 MB.
  • Each topic map must be submitted through the submission form provided by the TMRA website (soon). A short description of the submitted topic map is required.
  • Each submitted topic map will be made publicly available by a generic Topic Maps browser, before and after the conference. All topic maps will be published under a creative commons licence.
  • A jury (containing the conference chairs, representatives from Space Application Services, and other invited experts) will decide about the six most impressive topic maps which qualifies for the final at TMRA 2009.
  • The number of topic maps a person can submit is not restricted, but each person can participate with only one topic map in the final.
  • In the final, each participant will have 5 minutes to impress the audience with the uniqueness of her topic map.
  • The audience of the final at the TMRA 2009 conference will vote for the winners.
  • The decisions are final and the names of the winners will be published at the website of TMRA.
